Coaches \ Maintenance
Safety on New Zealand roads is overseen by Land Transport NZ who set minimum standards and monitor compliance through 6 monthly certification. Their agent has confirmed to us in writing that our “vehicles are maintained to a consistently high standard”. We have an unblemished safety record on the road. In 2002 we prepared 30-page report on road safety and reliability, This was reviewed by 2 independent parties who were completely satisfied with our policies and procedures. The most critical components affecting safety of the coach are as follows:
Connecting the vehicle to the road, tyres enable safe steering and braking. Wherever possible Michelin tyres are fitted to the steering axle and often also on the rear axle. We believe that these tyres are equally as safe as the other brands we use, while also providing superior comfort. Our operating procedures require tyres to be checked daily, for both inflation and tread wear.
With our vehicles travelling over 1 million kilometers per annum, we have developed very strong procedures for both regular maintenance through A and B service schedules, and identifying and rectifying issues as they arise. Professional engineering staff is employed onsite to monitor and carry out these activities. |
